2025 General Pletcher Open
The General Pletcher Open is a registered skeet event open to all NSSA members held the weekend before the ASSC.
Shooters who participate in both events are subject to a re-classification prior to the ASSC.
General Pletcher Open History
Lt. General Kenneth E. Pletcher, USAF, was one of the key leaders who established the Armed Forces Skeet Association. He along with other leaders at Peterson Field in Colorado were concerned the club could no longer host the Worldwide Military Invitational shoot due to external expansion projects. As such, General Pletcher advocated for an organization that could manage, fund, and host military skeet shooting events regardless of the future of Peterson Field. Once the Association was formed, Lt. General Pletcher was elected the first AFSA President, where he served for three (3) years from 1975 to 1978.
Because of his dedication and commitment to the organization and members of the military services, the Armed Forces Skeet Association works with the host club to hold the General Pletcher Open annually on the weekend prior to the Armed Services Skeet Championships.
